Two Swansea women get nine years’ sentence for brutal attack and attempted bank card fraud


Two women have been sentenced to nine years imprisonment each after a sustained assault which left the victim with serious injuries.
Rachel Miller, aged 29, of Blaenymaes and Kelly Thomas, aged 42, of no fixed abode spent the evening with the victim before they assaulted her and stole her bank card.
They were sentenced at Swansea Crown court for the offences of Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent, theft and fraud relating to the use of the victims bank card.
Detective Inspector Gareth Jones said: “These women carried out a sustained attack on the victim and then left her fighting for her life for a number of hours before getting her medical attention.
“Violence of any kind will not be tolerated and as detectives we will fully investigate and do all we can to bring the offenders to justice.”
