Cardiff man charged with intent to supply class A drugs in Carmarthenshire after car intercepted at Pont Abraham M4 services


A man has been charged with possessing class A drugs with intent to supply following a proactive police operation to intercept a car travelling through Carmarthenshire.
Dyfed-Powys Police officers arrested Muhajid Edwards, from Cardiff, at Pont Abraham services shortly after midnight on March 18.
The 24-year-old was taken to police custody, where he was charged with possession of heroin with intent to supply, possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence on March 29.
He has been remanded to prison to appear at Swansea Crown Court on April 29.
Detective Inspector Rhys Jones said: “A number of enquiries have been carried out into what has already been an intensive investigation. I would like to thank all the officers who have been involved so far for their perseverance and commitment to enquiries.
“We hope this arrest and charge will send a clear message that we are continuously working to disrupt the supply and use of illegal substances in our communities.”
Chief Inspector Shaun Bowen added: “This arrest and charge shows our dedication to protecting people living in our area, and our ongoing work into preventing the supply of drugs into Carmarthenshire.
“We will continue to act on any information received about the misuse of drugs in our communities, and will regularly update on our work to reassure that action is being taken.”
