Swansea’s leisure centres are gearing up to re-open as soon as their lockdown is over – with Penlan Leisure Centre opening just seconds after midnight on 3 May

Swansea Council’s leisure centres at the LC Swansea, Penlan, Penyrheol, Morriston, Cefn Hengoed and Bishopston – all operated by Freedom Leisure – will open the doors to their gyms, pools, sports halls and fitness classes from Monday 3 May.

Penlan Leisure Centre will open at a minute past midnight on May 3 to welcome eager swimmers and gym users.

Ivan Horsfall Turner, managing director of Freedom Leisure, said: “We thank all our customers for their patience, support and loyalty once again during the second lockdown period of closure of our leisure centres.

“Swansea’s leisure centres will continue to provide a Covid-safe place to give customers the reassurance we know they need.”

The Penlan gym and pool will be open from 12.01am on the morning of May 3.
