Para-athlete Harri Jenkins gets wheelchair returned after it was stolen in Aberavon

South Wales Police issued an appeal for information after Harri’s wheelchair was stolen from Aberavon Seafront on Friday (7 May).

The wheelchair, described as polished silver with black rear wheels and black cushions was stolen from the car park next to Franco’s just before 9am.

In a facebook post, South Wales Police said that CCTV from local businesses had been checked and further enquiries were being made with the local authority in relation to CCTV which covers the car park.

But on Sunday (9 May) Harri posted to his Instagram page that the wheelchair had been recovered.

Harri said: “A little update for everyone….. I’ve got my chair back!!! Thanks to everyone who’s helped, it wouldn’t have been possible without everyone. My chairs promised she’ll never leave me again.”

Police are asking anyone with information about the theft to contact them online, by email PublicServiceCentre@south-wales.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting occurrence 158823.
