Wales & West Utilities complete Tycroes gas network upgrade

Published

Work on the gas network at Pontardulais Road in Tycroes started at the end of March, which Wales and West Utilities say was essential to keep the gas flowing safely and reliably to local homes and businesses – keeping local people safe and warm for generations to come.

In planning the work Wales & West Utilities say they worked closely with Carmarthenshire County Council.

Wales & West Utilities Adam Smith managed the gas pipe upgrade work and said: “We’re happy to have finished this upgrade scheme and want to thank everyone who lives and works in the area for bearing with us while we worked hard to complete this essential work.

“While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across Tycroes and the surrounding areas. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.

“This work was essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future.”

Wales & West Utilities, the gas emergency and pipeline service, brings energy to 7.5m people across the south west of England and Wales.
