Top 20 best FREE days out for kids in Wales this Summer holidays


New research by Clarks reveals the best free days out for kids that Wales has to offer, and there’s something for everyone on the list.
Clarks analysed thousands of 5* TripAdvisor reviews across five categories: educational, cultural, historical, and nature or animal related activities.
The top FREE attractions in Wales are all located in Cardiff and Swansea – making these two great destinations for a summer holidays staycation or day trip for those who live close enough.
The place with the highest rating is St Fagans National Museum of History (pictured above), an outdoor museum which has 5,350 5* reviews.
In second place is Cardiff Bay with 3,599 5* reviews and in third place is Swansea’s Gower Peninsula with 1,820 5* reviews.

Oxwich Bay, Three Cliffs Bay, Caswell Bay and Llangennith Beach also make the top 10.
It’s not just beaches, as popular parks and woodland walks also make the grade, with Clyne Gardens, Penllergare Valley Woods and Singleton Park also featuring.

The top 20 is rounded off by Swansea’s Indoor Market – always a popular choice to soak up some atmosphere, some fabulous local produce and some bargains!
