Neath Port Talbot Council have issued a ‘warn and inform’ message after their Test, Trace and Protect (TTP) service found 4 people who had very recently tested positive for COVID had visited the Castle Hotel on The Parade in Neath Town Centre on 24 July.

The Test, Trace, Protect Service has been in contact with the venue but were unable to successfully trace all the individuals present on that day.

In a statement, the council said: “We are reminding anyone who attended the Castle Hotel on  Saturday 24th July that it is not too late to get tested and should do so right away (even if you do not have symptoms).

“Covid has an incubation period of between 2 – 14 days and therefore those who were at the Hotel may be infected but may be unaware or may not have symptoms. We urge you to get a test as soon as possible.

“Anyone with coronavirus symptoms (however mild) must remain at home both before and after having a test until such time as they have received a negative test result.

“Their household members must also stay at home in a similar manner as doing this will help prevent the spread of the virus to family, friends, colleagues and the wider community and will also help protect the NHS.”

Why can’t people be traced? You have to fill in a contact card with your details when you enter there.
