Police warning after shocking social media video shows teens’ pre-arranged fight at a Clydach park

South Wales Police say they’re investigating after a shocking video was circulated on social media of a fight at Coed Gwilym Park in Clydach.
The fight, which took place at around 3.30pm on Monday afternoon, is believed to have been pre-arranged between pupils from two Swansea Comprehensive Schools.
Local Police Inspector Andy Price said: “These groups showed a complete lack of consideration to other members of the public who were in the park at the time, and also a complete disregard for their own safety.
“I’m sure that those involved didn’t think through the serious consequences that could have come as a result of this fight. All too often we hear of someone hitting the back of their head on the ground during a fight and that’s enough to take a life.
“To the parents of the youths involved, do you know where your teenagers are when they head out? We would urge parents and guardians to have a word with their teenagers and warn them how easily fighting, or just being around a fight, could result in really serious harm to them or someone else.
“We will be investigating the incident fully and if offences are identified we will deal with them robustly”.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact South Wales Police online, by emailing SWP101@south-wales.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting reference number 2100271374.
