Two men have been jailed for a total of 5️ years for offences relating to County Lines drug dealing.

Ngandu Mukendi, 43, and Donascimento Yessa, 42, both from London were found in a property in Mayhill, Swansea after a visit from South Wales Police on Sunday 17 January 2021.

Upon officers’ arrival, Yessa opened the back door of the house and attempted to hide evidence by throwing a bag away from the house.

It was then found that the bag contained ‘wraps’ of class A drugs, and further searches led to a knife, weighing scales and over £1000 cash being seized.

Investigating officers found that the house had been taken over to use as a base for selling drugs. This is often known as ‘Cuckooing’.

Detective Sergeant Thomas Richardson said: “County lines drug dealing has a huge impact on vulnerable people within our communities.

“Every day South Wales Police are taking action to tackle the misery drugs cause to our communities and I hope this sentencing reassures people that we are working hard to eradicate this problem.

“If you suspect drug dealing is taking place or you are concerned that a young person or vulnerable adult may have been targeted by an organised crime group, please tell us. You don’t have to be certain, just concerned.”

Ngandu Mukendi has been sentenced to four years for drug trafficking offences. Donascimento Yessa has been sentenced to 12 months for possession of controlled drugs.
