Vandal attack on public toilets at Aberavon Beach ‘Selfish and Unnecessary’

Toilet facilities on Aberavon Seafront were put out of action by vandal attack on Friday.

Doors and partitions were severely damaged in the attack on the public toilets at Port Talbot’s popular Aberavon Seafront, which the council have condemned as “very selfish and completely unnecessary”

The attack was thought to have taken place late on Thursday afternoon (September 2nd) and South Wales Police have been informed.

A Neath Port Talbot Council spokeswoman said: “This was completely unnecessary vandalism and very selfish in that we will now be forced have these toilets out of operation while they are cleaned and repaired despite many visitors to our coast requiring such facilities.

“We hope those responsible for this awful attack will be found when this incident is investigated by South Wales Police and if anyone saw anything suspicious in or around the toilets on Thursday please contact the police.”

In a later statement the council confirmed that repairs to the toilets have subsequently been made to ensure they are safe, and are now back open.
