Safe filled with cash stolen from Llanelli restaurant

Dyfed Powys Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a Llanelli restaurant on Wednesday (8 September).

The break-in took place in the early hours of the morning at the Cattle and Co steakhouse which is located at the pumphouse – the former Sosban restaurant – in North Dock.

It is believed that someone broke a window to gain entry before stealing a safe containing a large quantity of cash.

In a facebook post, Cattle & Co speculate that the intruders were locals living within a 5 minute radius of the restaurant as CCTV captures them coming and going four times over the space of 3 hours.

In the social media post, a representative from Cattle & Co said: “At 1.40am 1 man jumped over our railings on the terrace and smashed through our glass door, entered the property and eventually found our safe. He spent some time trying to access the safe and trying to remove it from the property. He then left and returned later with 2 other men.

“Man 1 was wearing: plain white Adidas trainers, navy Adidas bottoms, dark green Under Armour hoodie, blue T-shirt. Sock over his trainers, mask and black rubber gloves. He came back again on his own with a black dolly trolly, couldn’t move safe again, then left again.

“At 4.20am man 1 comes back plus 2 other men wearing dark tracksuits carrying rope & bolt cutters to get through our gates.

“As you can see from the video they had one hell of a struggle trying to move the safe . As they failed to break into or take the safe away with them, it was then put behind a bush UNOPENED hoping we wouldn’t find it, is what we’re thinking. The only thing that could move the safe was a truck.

“We love being here at the Pumphouse, but really need the community’s help to catch these 3 people and bring them to justice!. If you think you know even the littlest of detail please get in touch with us.”

Cattle & Co have subsequently reopened.
