Poundland’s new Swansea store gets finishing touches before its opening TOMORROW

Staff at discount retailer Poundland are putting the finishing touches to their brand new Swansea Oxford Street store ahead of the grand opening tomorrow (Saturday 18 September)
The 8,500 sq ft store will employ 19 colleagues and carry a full range of PEP&CO clothing and homeware.
Poundland retail and transformation director, Austin Cooke, said: “We were sorry to say goodbye to Oxford Street and we couldn’t be happier making a welcome comeback and playing our role in breathing new life into the heart of Swansea.
“The opening will be just in time for our PEP&CO autumn and winter ranges and will give shoppers plenty of choice as thoughts start turning to Christmas.”
Poundland’s previous store in the former Woolworth’s at 242 Oxford Street closed in April. That building is set to be transformed as part of ambitious plans for a biophilic building complete with apartments, greenhouses, retail and office space.
You won’t have to look to hard to find Poundland’s newest offering however as it will be directly opposite its old store, in rival discounter Poundstretcher’s former premises at 18 Oxford Street.
