Appeal for information after fatal Efail Fach collision

South Wales Police are appealing for information after a fatal two-car collision in the Neath Port Talbot village of Efail Fach.

The collision between a green Mazda MX-5 and a red Ford Fiesta happened on the B4287 at Efail Fach near Pontrhydyfen at around 7.30pm on Saturday evening (30 October).

The 22 year-old passenger of the Mazda sustained fatal injuries. The 27 year-old driver of that car was serious injured.

The driver of the Fiesta travelling in the opposite direction was also seriously injured. Two other occupants of that vehicle escaped injury.

The road was closed for a number of hours for investigations to be carried out at the scene.

Officers from South Wales Police’s Serious Collisions Unit are appealing for anybody who may have been travelling along that route and noticed the manner of driving of either vehicle moments before the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to make contact online, by emailing SWP101@south-wales.police.uk or by calling 101 giving reference number 380974.
