Police appeal for information after man dies following reported Port Talbot assault


A 70 year-old man from Taibach has died following reports of an assault at a property on Dan-y-Bryn Road in Port Talbot.
South Wales Police were called to the property at 11.40am yesterday morning (Thursday 27 January), with the street shut for several hours while an investigation was carried out.
The victim was taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where he died during the early hours of this morning.
Police report that his next of kin have been informed.
A 58 year old man from Port Talbot has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remains in police custody.
South Wales Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Dan Y Bryn Road between 10am and midday yesterday.
They are especially keen to hear from those that may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area during those times.
