The service provides residential respite care and support for children and young people who have learning or physical disabilities and their families.

Registered Manager at Park House, Sarah Chilcott, said: “It was lovely and fitting to bring everyone together to celebrate the 10-year milestone with a big birthday cake and the children playing outside.

“We are constantly moved by parents and carers telling us how much they appreciate the service we offer and the huge benefits to their family lives.

“I’m very proud of everyone – staff, children and their families – who help us make a difference every day.”

Hayley with daughter Chloe

Hayley’s daughter Chloe accesses Park House and was at the party.

She reflected: “Chloe loves coming here and is always asking when she’ll be coming back. For, it’s just gives me relief from my caring role so I can do things with my older daughter that I wouldn’t be able to do normally.

“Chloe is quite demanding and that brings a lot of pressure so without it there would be a lot more pressure on my caring role.

“The staff know Chloe inside out and always answer any questions and worries I may have. It’s just good for my own wellbeing.”

Carly with daughter, Maddison

Carly’s daughter, Maddison also attends Park House.

She added: “During lockdown, I really struggled with Maddy and Park House gave her the opportunity to be independent and have her own friends.

“My other children were going out and Maddy was just left in the house.

“Since coming here I’ve been able to do more with my other children. Maddy’s been more independent and mixed with children like herself.
