Police launch fresh appeal for information after Cimla pensioner attacked on Jubilee weekend


South Wales Police have launched a fresh appeal for information after a 75 year-old man was assaulted at Cwm Pandy Fields near to Bwlch Road in Cimla around 4.15pm on Friday 3 June.
Detective Sergeant David Connick said: “The victim was walking his dogs when he was approached by a man and a boy. It is understood that a man produced a knife in an unprovoked attack, resulting in the victim receiving minor injuries for which he received treatment for at hospital.
“The man is described as white, in his 30s, with a stocky build and around 5ft 9. He was wearing a grey/blue coloured baseball cap, a light-coloured t-shirt, knee length shorts and a small rucksack.
“The boy with the man is described as a white, around 13 years-old, with a stocky build and around 5ft 8 with short, light brown hair. He was wearing a light-yellow coloured t-shirt, long shorts and a smack rucksack.
“This is a frightening and unprovoked attack which occurred around the tight knit community of Cimla and I am appealing for any witnesses who were in or around the area of this field between 3pm and 6pm to come forward.”
