Housing association proposes 30 home development in Pontarddulais

Caredig Housing Association has submitted pre-application plans for 30 new homes on the site of the former Clayton works on Tyn y Bonau Road in Pontarddulais.
The application prepares the ground for a full planning application to Swansea Council after city planners give their views.
The site, formally home to the Clayton Tin Plate Works is opposite Pontarddulais Park and adjoins the Clayton Park and Ffordd Cambria housing development constructed in 2008.
Caredig is proposing a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 bedroomed family houses along with 1 and 2 bedroomed small family flats – two of which will be ‘adapted’ to cater for individual special needs together – as well as 2 wheelchair-adapted bungalows.
All of the homes would be offered by the housing association on a social-rented basis.
