Neath schoolboy names new street set to house 50 affordable homes

A Neath Port Talbot schoolboy is already making a lifelong mark on his local community… and he’s only seven years old.
Melin Primary School pupil Noah Alms has chosen the name for a new development in Pencaerau in Neath by Housing Association Tai Tarian.
He chose Clos Castan which in English means Chestnut Close.
Tai Tarian contractors Jones Brothers Henllan Ltd also presented the school with a £100 donation for their hard work in researching the area.
Development Assistant from Tai Tarian, Zoey Jones said: “The field the site is being built upon has been known locally for many years as “The Conker Field” so this was a perfect choice.
“Noah was so shocked when we told him his suggestion had been chosen and was still shaking his head in disbelief as he left assembly!
The new development will comprise over 50 properties which will range from flats to family homes.
