Man charged after Morriston attempted robbery


South Wales Police Detectives investigating an attempted robbery on Woodfield Street in Morriston on Friday have charged a man.
Brandon Brook, 19, from Swansea has been charged with attempt robbery, possession of a bladed article, common assault and assault on an emergency worker.
He has been remanded into custody and will appear before Swansea Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
Two other people – an 18 year old-man and an 18 year-old woman – arrested at the same time and been released without charge.
Detective chief inspector Michael Owens of Swansea CID said: “This was a very distressing incident for members of the public who witnessed it.
“A man has been charged and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.
“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and will always be dealt with robustly.”
Several people were in the area at the time, and it is believed some of the incident may have been filmed by members of the public.
Police are asking witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage who have not yet come forward are asked to contact them quoting reference 2200332154.
