Pembrokeshire school evacuated after fire tears through roof


Manorbier Primary School near Tenby in Pembrokeshire has been closed, with pupils evacuated to a nearby caravan park after fire tears through the roof of the building.
Pembrokeshire Council asked for parents to collect their children from nearby Buttyland Caravan and Camping park.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Today, Monday 10th October at 11.15 am, crews from Tenby, Pembroke Dock, Haverfordwest and Milford Haven were called to reports of a roof fire at Manorbier VC Primary School, Manorbier, Tenby.
“Property has been evacuated and crews are currently still in attendance with the incident ongoing.”
Pembrokeshire County Council confirmed that all pupils and teachers were safe.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: “Pembrokeshire County Council is aware of a fire at Manorbier Church in Wales VC School and can confirm that all children and staff are safe.
“Parents and carers are asked to please collect learners from Buttyland Caravan Park using the Norchard Lane route as the usual route to the school is currently closed.”
