New sci-fi family film starring Griff Rhys Jones is coming to a Swansea cinema

A new sci-fi adventure, family film starring comedy legend Griff Rhys Jones is coming to a select number of Odeon cinemas on October 21, including Swansea.
‘Future TX’ is an exciting sci-fi action adventure for all the family. It’s a fun and fast story about two kids who receive strange messages from the future via their new mobile phones – and it’s up to them if the future is going to survive!
The story is also a cautionary tale on how technology has the power to control our lives. Think a fun version of Black Mirror but for kids!
So, get ready to be pulled into the world of ‘Future TX’ as the film is coming to a cinema near you soon – and just in time for the school holidays!
Destiny is calling.
DYLAN and MOLLY buy their first mobile phones and they instantly both ring at the same time. When they answer, a Mystery Man (known as Future TX) says he’s calling from the future and needs their help. Like, right now. To save the world!
Suddenly our unlikely heroes are mixed up in stakeouts, dodgy clues, weird characters and deadly drones – drones chasing them through gardens, alleyways and houses, all equipped with tranquillising darts!
Can Future TX be trusted? Can the kids survive today? More importantly, can they save tomorrow? After all, the future depends on them!
‘Future TX’ stars Griff Rhys Jones, the comedy legend whose career spans 40 years of British film & TV, as well as his award-winning partnership with fellow comedian Mel Smith. Griff used all his comedy acting experience and insight to inspire the two children co-star leads – Arran Kemp and Adele Congreve – who make their feature film debuts.
‘Future TX’ also stars Doug Cockle (The Witcher), Catriona Knox (Charlie Brooker’s Screen Wipe and Black Mirror: Bandersnatch), Nicole Faraday (Bad Girls), Christos Lawton (The Terror), Kevin Hudson (Dr Who) and James Grogan (My Name Is Lenny).
The premise of the film resonates with our modern obsession with technology and gadgets, but adds a compelling twist and sci-fi hook: “what would you say if you could speak to yourself in the past? Would you change your past to save the future?”
‘Future TX’ will have its world premiere at the award-winning Cinemagic Festival on Sat 15th Oct 12.30pm in Belfast.
The film is being released on the 21st of October 2022, running through school half term week, in 31 Odeon cinemas for a limited time – including Swansea – and programmed in the morning, so you will need to grab your tickets quick!
