No added sugar Vimto recalled as bottles filled with regular product containing sugar

Nichols PLC, the makers of popular fruit juice drink Vimto are recalling bottles of their “no added sugar” drink due to a packaging error.
The company’s Vimto squash ‘No added sugar’ 725ml bottles with batch code 2182 and a best before date of August 2023 are being recalled as they actually contain the company’s regular ‘added sugar’ product.
The Food Standards Agency say that this makes the product a potential risk to consumers who need to manage their sugar intake.
The product is easily identified as containing sugar due to its purple coloured cap.
No other Vimto products are said to be affected by the packaging error.
The Food Standards Agency say: “If you have bought the above product and need to manage your sugar intake, please do not drink it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
