Eight month sentence for Neath drug dealer

A Neath drug dealer has been sentenced to 8 months in prison after being caught selling Valium and cannabis in Victoria Park.
Christopher Welke was seen by officers from South Wales Police in an exchange with a number of known drug users in the park on Wednesday 12 October.
Inspector Lindsey Sweeney from South Wales Police said: “Officers out on patrol saw Christopher Welke acting suspiciously.
“They stopped and searched him, and found that he was in possession of a quantity of Class C drugs, mainly Valium, along with over £200 cash and a small amount of cannabis.
“This case shows the importance of the police’s power to stop and search people they suspect to be breaking the law.
“These drugs cause untold damage to the lives of both those who use them, and become dependent on them, and the wider community who suffer from the resulting crime.”
