The Plough and Harrow in Brynhyfryd reopened its doors last month, following a £229,000 investment.

Football fans looking cheer on Wales in their opening Fifa World Cup fixture against USA on 21 November will have plenty of opportunity to catch all the action at The Plough and Harrow, as the pub now features 11 large TVs as part of its refurbishment.

For fixtures a little closer to home, the Plough and Harrow have also had both BT and Sky Sports installed to cover all of the biggest sporting occasions.

Elsewhere in the pub, further improvements have seen a new pool table and illuminated darts board installed, to add some healthy competition between guests during their visit, much to the enjoyment of the pub’s pool team.

The weekend sees music entertainment return to the pub, with Friday night live music coming from local bands and a Saturday night Karaoke to entertain guests well into the night.

Speaking on the refurbishment, Operator at the Plough and Harrow, Stephanie Francis-Clarke said: “We have a great range of entertainment on offer here at the Plough and Harrow, with sports fans being able to feast on our number of large TVs and sporting activities, whilst enjoying afternoons and evenings with us. Next month’s World Cup will especially be an exciting time for everyone at the pub, as we join our guests in cheering on Wales on the world stage.”

With a new look to the popular local, regulars of the Brynhyfryd local will notice a marked change. The investment has retained the pub’s friendly, warm and welcoming feel. The pub’s garden area has also seen changes made with festoon lighting and new benches added to bring a fresh new look.

There is a great selection of beers, ciders, wines and spirits from the bar, with a range of non-alcoholic drinks also available, alongside bar snacks at the community pub.

Stephanie added: “I grew up in Swansea, so to take on running this fantastic community led pub is a great honour for me. It has been great to meet all of the regulars and I’ve already enjoyed some fun evenings with our guests. I am sure there will be more to come!”
