42 year-old man sentenced for attempted armed robbery
Barry Cooke from Swansea has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for attempted robbery.

Cooke, aged 42, pointed an imitation gun at an 18-year-old woman in the street and demanded she hand over her possessions in November last year.
He chased the woman who sought refuge in her friend’s car on Duke Street, Swansea. Cooke then continued to demand their belongings, pointing the gun through the car window while banging on the car bonnet. He eventually fled the scene as the victims called the Police.
Using CCTV from around the Uplands area detectives were able to trace the movements and he was identified. Cooke was arrested at home on November 12.
Cooke pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on the 15 February to four and a half years imprisonment.
Detective Constable Sioned Davies commented, “The victims experienced a traumatic episode at the hands of Cooke, he is clearly a dangerous offender and I am pleased he will serve a custodial sentence for his actions.”
