Apprentices Euromillions Winners

Alex Gwynne (28), Dan Phillips (25) and Kyle Bowen (25), created their National Lottery syndicate six years ago while at college completing their apprenticeships. The friends had seen a group in the year above them win £5,000 on The National Lottery which motivated them to set up their own, aptly named ‘The Apprentices’.

Syndicate leader, Alex, said, “The win really couldn’t have come at a better time for all of us as we move into ‘grown-up’ life. We’re all starting to settle down and make long-term plans for the future – a bit different to how we were when we set up the syndicate, that’s for sure!”

Whilst The Apprentices don’t always play EuroMillions, syndicate leader Alex was compelled to enter via the National Lottery app after hearing that 100 millionaires would be made in the special EuroMillions draw on Friday 3rd February 2023.

And it was the very next morning when a stunned Alex discovered the life-changing win after receiving a ‘news about your ticket’ email. Keen to share the news with his friends, Alex rang The Apprentices WhatsApp group, only for fellow syndicate member, Dan, to answer straight from the shower.

Dan said, “When the phone went I assumed Alex was just arranging a catch up. Not that I don’t like catching up with the boys, but discovering I’d won a share of £1,000,000 was even better news, and probably the best news I’ve had while stark naked!”

Now all fully clothed and with the winnings in their bank accounts, the friends have been able to catch up for a celebratory drink and have started to make plans for their winnings. Top of the list for The Apprentices is helping out family and planning for future investment properties, along with a few treats here and there.
