Ospreys Ethan Roots and Joe Hawkins both sign for Exeter Chiefs
Ospreys Centre, Joe Hawkins and Flanker, Ethan Roots have both announced moves to Exeter Chiefs at the end of the season.

New Zealander, Roots originally joined the Ospreys from Canterbury Crusaders in 2021 as injury cover and signed a two-year deal after impressing on his loan. Since arriving, Roots has made 34 appearances for the Ospreys.
Ospreys Head Coach, Toby Booth said: “Ethan is a tough, physical player and has always given 100% when he has stepped on the field for the Ospreys.
“He has always brought an abrasive edge to our team. We will miss that. He has improved in his time here and it is a shame to see him move on. Players have short careers, and he was transparent in the whole process about securing a future for himself and his family.”
Ethan Roots said: “Wales has been a home away from home for me and everyone and the Ospreys have played a key in helping me to settle.
“I have had the privilege of playing with some special players during my time here and want to thank the fans for all their support.”

Joe Hawkins came through the Ospreys pathway and has been capped five times at Welsh international level during his time at the region. The young centre has also made 28 appearances for Ospreys in that period.
Head Coach, Toby Booth said: “Obviously it is a disappointment to lose Joe, he is a player that we have spent a lot of time developing over the last two years.
“A big focus of what we are trying to do is to keep our young talented Welsh players but sometimes this is not possible.”
Joe Hawkins said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Ospreys and I’ve come along leaps and bounds in my time here.
“I have made some great friends here and would like to wish the players and staff all the best for the future.”
