‘Lead The Way’ dog walk marks start of Penllergare Trust and Burns pet food partnership
The partnership will kick off with a Lead the Way dog walk around the incredible woodlands on Saturday 13th May

Kidwelly-based healthy pet food company Burns Pet Nutrition has announced a new partnership with The Penllergare Trust, home to over 250 acres of woods, lakes and parkland as well as a Victorian Walled Garden, the latter set to open in the coming year.
With dog walking a key feature of the Penllergare estate, this wonderful woodland sees over 65,000 dogs visit per year, and as such, the organisation says its three-year partnership with Burns will further help build on both brands commitment to supporting healthy dog-ownership and an all-round general love for dogs.
As part of the partnership, Burns feature as a new partner across all Penllergare Trust marketing materials and via their social media channels. It also includes an event sponsorship of the Trust’s annual Autumn Fayre alongside plenty of other activities and events.
Burns will attend sales and awareness events multiple times each year too, alongside being able to utilise the new Education Centre as part of the deal.
The partnership will begin with a Lead the Way walk taking place on Saturday 13th May in the Penllergare Woods. Locals are encouraged to bring their pooches along and enjoy the magnificent stroll and scenery.
With 2023 being the Year of Trails for Visit Wales, both Burns and The Penllergare Trust are keen to capitalise on this theme and develop their own dedicated trail together later this year.
Founder of Burns Pet Nutrition, John Burns said of the new sponsorship: “We are over the moon to be partnering with The Penllergare Trust.
“With a new Visitor Centre, a new Education Centre and a restored Walled Gardens coming soon, it’s an exciting time to be involved with the Trust. Both brands commitment to healthy and responsible dog ownership aligns perfectly and we look forward to working together over the coming years.
“It will be brilliant to kick it off with a Lead the Way walk which lots of dogs can enjoy in the stunning parkland.”
Stuart Rice, the Commercial Officer for The Penllergare Trust said: “It’s great to be partnering with Burns Pet Nutrition for what will be a fabulous and fruitful relationship. The Lead the Way walk will be a great way to signal the start of our ongoing collaboration. We care greatly about our canine friends and have lots of woodland paths to explore.”
