Swansea-based beauty and personal care business invests in solar
Swansea-based organic beauty and personal care business, Dr. Organic Group has invested in a new rooftop solar panel project that should generate 584,306 kWh electricity every year, saving a projected 123,260 Kg of CO² per year.

Dr. Organic, based in Swansea Enterprise Park in Llansamlet, say their solar panel project forms part of its overall commitment to planet action.
It forms part of CO2 savings the business is making through a range of site-wide measures including LED light installation and carbon offsetting through tree planting.
The project, which has seen a 1,500-panel array installed across 2,952m2 of roof space, will be the largest solar panel project in the Llansamlet area of Swansea, and is large enough to power 160 homes.
Dr. Organic say that all excess energy generated on sunny days will be exported to the National Grid.
The roof-mounted panel system was designed and installed by Olympus Power, who also installed two new electric vehicle charging points for staff and visitors to use when on-site at the Swansea HQ facility.
Bart Dobbelaere, CEO at Dr. Organic Group said: “At the Dr. Organic Group, our mission is to protect people and planet. This clean solar project forms part of our wider commitment to planet action.
“With our company and brands, we are on a journey towards greater sustainability and making a positive impact for people and planet. With this solar energy project and new electric vehicle charging capabilities, it’s feels like changing little stones in a river in order to change the river’s course or create a ripple effect that leads to greater positive changes for a more sustainable world.”
Vanessa Zalman, General Manager for Olympus Power said: “Our team are delighted to deliver this solar project with Dr. Organic for their Swansea HQ and enable a switch to renewable energy. Olympus Power have a mission to save one million tonnes of CO2 by 2025 by partnering with forward-thinking companies like Dr. Organic.”
Simon Vassall, Commercial Manager for Olympus Power added: “We worked closely with the management team at Dr. Organic to design and deliver a solar system that will work for them. Our expert team are able to accurately forecast savings in energy costs for the company, bringing a custom solution that will provide energy security for many years to come.”
