Police ‘very concerned’ for welfare of 87-year-old one week after going missing

South Wales Police say they’re “very concerned” for the welfare of 87-year-old Vivian Davies after he went missing from his home in Baglan on Sunday 21 May.

Inspector David Price from South Wales Police said: “We are continuing to appeal for information concerning the whereabouts of Vivian Davies who has not been seen since Sunday 21 May 2023.

“Since Vivian was reported missing, we are continuing to pursue all lines of enquiry and thank the public for all their support to date.

“We, and Vivian’s family, are very concerned for Vivian’s welfare and continue to appeal to anyone who has any information which might help us to find him.

“If you believe you may have sighted Vivian, we ask that you call police as soon as possible and keep him in sight until officers arrive.”

Vivian Davies, 87, was last seen on Maes Ty Canol in Baglan at around 10am on Sunday 21 May.

He is around 5ft 2″ of slim build with grey hair. It is believed he was wearing knee length dark shorts, a long sleeved stripped top carrying a rucksack.

Anyone who may have seen Vivian, or who has information which will help find him, is asked to contact South Wales Police quoting occurrence number 2300165552.
