Due to popular demand, the whole shopping centre, and eighteen of its stores, are now welcoming well-behaved dogs with open arms.

Quadrant staff and retailers say they understand the importance four-legged friends play in the lives of its shoppers, and so this development will enable further shared experiences with canine companions, right in the heart of Swansea.

With Swansea Indoor Market having already successfully implemented a dog friendly policy over the past 18 months, this is another step to Swansea becoming a dog-friendly city.

Commenting on this news, is Quadrant Shopping Centre Manager, Lisa Hartley: “This is a huge development for us and we are thrilled to be Wales’s first dog friendly indoor shopping centre.

“We’re located right in the centre of Swansea, and are surrounded by the beautiful coastline, which attracts thousands of visitors a year; many of which are dog owners wanting to explore the very best of Gower. In opening our centre to dogs, it means that visitors and locals, no longer have to leave their beloved dogs behind while they enjoy a day of retail therapy.

“We’ve had great pleasure in welcoming our shoppers and their dogs, over the past week and the response has been fantastic. Dogs truly are a man’s best friend and we’ve really enjoyed witnessing the surprise and delight on our shoppers’ faces as they spot dogs dotted around on their shopping trips.”

Dog-owner, Geraint Jones, from Uplands also commented on the news: “This is very exciting news for me and my family. It means we can now ‘make a day of it’ in Swansea, without panicking about leaving our dog at home all day.

“There are already so many great, dog-friendly restaurants in Swansea, that this news now enables us to fully embrace where we live. We can now shop, eat and explore the city centre, as well as the coastline with our Cavapoo, Annie.”
