Swans and Joma release new charity third kit  

Swansea City and Joma have launched the club’s new third kit for the 2023/24 season and confirmed the squad numbers for their upcoming EFL Championship campaign.

The club’s new kit is a pink design representing the continued partnership with cancer charity Maggie’s as part of their ‘Tacking Cancer Together’ initiative, with the Maggie’s name and logo displayed on the shorts. 

Joma’s sustainable 100% recycled polyester design will be sold with a percentage of income received to be donated to Maggie’s to show continued support to the charity located around the grounds of Singleton Hospital.

The Swans front-of-shirt sponsors Westacres and back-of-shirt, Swansea Building Society will also be making donations of their own to the cause. The charity which has 25 centre’s across the UK has been located in Swansea since opening in 2011 and has had firm links to the club in recent years in raising awareness.

 “As a club, we are unbelievably proud to have Maggie’s as our charity partner for the coming season,” enthused club chairman Andy Coleman.

“They do an unbelievable amount of great work in the local community, providing care and support for those dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

 “We are very much looking forward to a season-long commitment to raising as much money for Maggie’s as possible through a wide range of fundraising initiatives, and I know our supporters will fully support this.” 

On launching the new kit Katie Doyle, head of Marketing at Swansea City said “This is more than just a shirt. This shirt and the wider campaign around it have the power to raise awareness for something close to us all.

“Most of us have sadly been touched by cancer, be it a family member, a friend, a colleague, or even people who have been diagnosed themselves. 

“The incredible team at Swansea City have been working tirelessly on this project for the best part of 12 months and are extremely passionate about encouraging people to talk and raise awareness.

“Our dedicated webpage will allow fans of all clubs to share their stories, because whether you have been personally affected or a loved one has, you are not alone. 

“I know this campaign will resonate with fans of football clubs, with the aim that we can all tackle cancer together.” 

Lucia Osmond, centre fundraising manager at Maggie’s Swansea, commented on the launch that Maggie’s was thrilled to feature on Swansea City’s third kit the 2023-2024 season.

“Aside from fundraising plans, the focus on cancer awareness is so important. On behalf of my team, we are very excited to plan lots of fundraising initiatives with Swansea City which will help us reach more people affected by cancer in our community.”

The club today also revealed the first team players numbers for the season with new signing Jerry Yates set to wear the converted Swans number nine jersey, whilst Josh Key will take over the vacant number two shirt.

Josh Ginnelly will be wearing 11 and most recent acquisitions Mykalo Kuharevich and Carl Rushworth will hold 19 and 22 respectively. There are no changes to any of the current personnel’s squad numbering from the previous campaign.
