A number of other races took place, including 1k and 3k races for juniors and a mascot race in which the winner scooped £100 for charity. The total number of entrants topped 4,100.
Participants and spectators enjoyed the event village with food, drink and entertainment.
Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s cabinet member for investment, regeneration and tourism, said: “We thank all those who came to run and watch the 42nd staging of this great event.
“The Admiral Swansea Bay 10k is a key part of Swansea’s annual events calendar and is one of the best events of its kind in the UK. As always, there was a great, family-friendly atmosphere.
“It’s fantastic to see so many familiar faces return year after year to an event that’s been in existence for more than four decades.
“Many runners now return with their children and grandchildren. It’s also great to see so many former entrants of the junior 1k and 3k races now take part in the main 10k.

“I’m delighted to announce that the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k will return next year on September 15, with entries on sale from October 16 this year.”
A number of temporary road closures were essential to ensure the safety of runners and spectators – and to help make the event a success. Cllr Francis-Davies thanked residents and businesses affected by the changes.
It was the 17th occasion that Admiral has sponsored the event. Other sponsors included Princes Gate Mineral Water, The Secret Bar & Kitchen, Aldi and Days Motor Group.
Lorna Connelly, Head of People at Admiral, said: “A big thank you to everyone involved in organising, running and spectating; they approached the day with great spirit. It was great to see so many people of different abilities taking part in this year’s race, which was once again a wonderful event.”
