South Wales Police say the drugs find was made after the force’s Port Talbot neighbourhood policing team carried out a search of Western Log Group’s property in Cwmavon around 12.25pm on Sunday (22 October).

Two men aged 53 and 28, both from Duffryn Rhondda, were arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and remain in police custody.

Sergeant Jules Simpson from South Wales Police said: “Thanks to the work of local PCSOs and neighbourhood officers we have been able to remove a significant quantity of cannabis from the streets of Port Talbot.

“We know the negative impact illegal drug use and supply can have on communities. We are committed to doing all we can to put a stop to this sort of activity in the Port Talbot area.

“We take all suspected drugs cultivation seriously and would continue to urge anyone who has any suspicions about any buildings that might be used for illegal purposes to come forward with information.”
