The Swans will be looking to gain a positive response in Lancashire after back-to-back home defeats against Leicester City and Watford have somewhat derailed what had been a change in fortune for the Northern Irishman’s side.
Having previously won the last four matches the Swans will look to get back to winnings this weekend but face the stern test of a Blackburn side in strong form lying in 11th place in the table.
The availability of Wales international Cabango, however, will be a welcome boost for Duff still without several first-teamers and doubts over the availability of full-back Josh Key who missed the loss to the Hornets on Tuesday night.
Showing the unpredictability of the league, Rovers have won their last three on the bounce after coming back to beat Millwall 2-1 in mid-week having sustained five defeats in the previous six games prior to that.
Having spent 12 years with Rovers bitter rivals Burnley, Duff, fully aware of the task ahead, believes the Swans will have to be at their best to get something from the game.
“We will need to play well because you can’t go away from home in the Championship and get away with not playing well, said Duff.
“They have won the last three and are a good energetic, young side. They will come after you with a full-court press and go man-for-man quite often, so we will need to be good with and without the ball.
“We have played well in our last two away performances, and if we can do that again and be a bit more clinical with the ball, we will give ourselves a good chance of getting a result.
“The Championship is relentless. We have had two very tough games, hard-fought with a lot of energy and lots of running.
“We haven’t got the luxury of taking an eleven out and changing as we don’t have like-for-like in every position.
“Some people have to play under fatigue which brings potential risk in. We are trying to reduce that as much as possible.
“Ben Cabango comes into the thinking, which is a positive. Other than that, Myko [Kukharevych] and Josh [Key] are touch and go as to whether they will be fit, we will wait and see.
“Harrison [Ashby] had cramp and a few lads looked a bit tired on Tuesday, but that is what it is.”
