Festive films return to Carmarthen Showground with Street Food Cinema drive-in

Now in its second year, the immersive cinema show transforms the Showground warehouse into a Christmas wonderland with festive favourites like Home Alone, Elf and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation alongside family classics like Gremlins, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Labyrinth.

Street Food Cinema will run an early evening and late show every day from Friday 15 December to Saturday 23 December, with two additional afternoon matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. The drive-in shows films on a huge screen with sound broadcast through the car radio. There’s contactless, online ordering from the street food traders and food is brought straight to your car by the Street Food Cinema elves.

Three American-themed street food traders are lined up for every show with Bone Cartel offering 24 hour-marinated buttermilk fried chicken, Big Apple Hot Dogs serving their twist on the classic US hot dog and Barebones Pizza cooking handmade pizza in their wood-fired oven.

Street Food Circus ringmaster, Matt the Hat said:

“We’re thrilled to bring our magical Christmas wonderland back to Carmarthen. We recreate the classic American drive-in with some extra magic from our Street Food Circus elves! You can expect a theatrical experience with plenty of snow, lights and a few pre-show surprises to make this a special festive treat for the whole family.

“We’ve lined up some of our favourite street food traders from the events we run across Wales, with food served direct from their kitchens to your car by our roller-skating elves. We believe there’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a classic festive film, some great food and a little bit of Christmas magic,” he said.

Street Food Circus’ BOBO bar is providing the sweet offering with classic cinema snacks like hot popcorn and ice cream and sharing cinema sweet boxes which can be pre-ordered.

Standard tickets for one car are £26.00 (+booking fee) and can be booked online
