Police appeal after early morning Mumbles collision

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a driver and a pedestrian which happened outside the Co-Op in Mumbles, during the early hours of this morning.

The collision took place just before 1.10am today, Monday August 26, and involved a white Kia Rio which was being driven from Mumbles Pier towards the Newton area of Mumbles when the driver hit a 22-year-old man.

The man was taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be potentially life changing.

Whilst investigations continue Mumbles Road is currently closed between Church Park Lane and Dunns Lane. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected on surrounding roads.

The road is likely to remain closed until at least 1pm this afternoon.

Officers would now like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant.
