An 11‑year‑old DJ and electronic music producer from Llanllechid in Eryri has released his second single, marking a major step forward in the career of one of the UK’s youngest emerging electronic artists.
Efan Electro, who has been building a reputation through studio work, live performances and community‑led creative projects, has released his new track Stronger across all major streaming platforms.
The single has already attracted early attention after being played by Adam Walton on BBC Introducing, making Efan one of the youngest producers ever to receive airplay on the programme.
Efan Electro said:
“I was overjoyed to have a play on BBC Introducing. I never thought it would happen at my age. It feels amazing to have the song finally released and it’s given me such a boost of confidence to release more music in the future.”
Documentary charts his journey
The release follows a recent documentary about Efan’s development as a young electronic artist, broadcast on BBC iPlayer and the S4C YouTube channel.
The film follows Efan as he balances school life with studio sessions, rehearsals and live performances, including a DJ set at Kendal Calling’s Tîm Peaks Café stage — a major UK festival slot for someone his age.
It also captures a backstage meeting with electronic music pioneer Fatboy Slim, offering a moment of connection between generations of dance‑music culture.
Community projects and creative opportunities
Alongside his own releases, Efan has been working with Letters Grow Studio, a grassroots creative space supporting young people through music and media.
As part of the collaboration, he helped produce a track for the North Wales Rivers Trust — a project designed to give young artists professional experience while supporting environmental awareness.
A rising Welsh talent
Efan’s story has drawn attention not only for his technical ability, but for the wider message it carries about creativity, confidence and opportunities for young people in Wales.
His work remains rooted in his local community in Eryri, while connecting him with national audiences through festivals, broadcast platforms and digital media.
