South Wales Police say the crash happened at around 1.50pm on Tuesday 1 July 2025 on the A4106 Bridgend Road in Tythegston. It involved a silver Triumph Speed Triple RS motorcycle and a red Land Rover Defender.
The rider, Kenneth Charles Bright, from Llanharry, was taken to hospital by ambulance but died on Monday 4 August.
Officers from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing their enquiries and are urging anyone with information, dash‑cam footage or CCTV to come forward.
They are particularly keen to trace:
- The elderly occupants of a yellow Honda Civic who stopped at the scene but left before police arrived
- The driver of a small grey car that was turning right into Dan‑y‑Graig Nursing Home, who may have seen the motorcycle in the moments before the collision
Kenneth’s family said in a statement:
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Charles Bright of Llanharry, who tragically passed away on August 4th. As a beloved father, grandfather, brother and son, his loss has left us in shock and he will be dearly missed by his loving family, and many friends.
The suddenness of his passing has been difficult for us to comprehend but we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the ambulance service and incredible staff at the Heath Hospital, whose tireless efforts and compassion will never be forgotten. Their dedication gave us comfort during the most difficult of times, and we will always remain grateful.”
Kenneth’s funeral will take place at Llanharry Cemetery on Friday 29 August at 11am.
