Expected to be completed in 2027, Pobl say the development will offer a mix of thoughtfully designed homes to suit a variety of needs.
Properties to be constructed include 8 four-bedroom townhouses, 14 two-bedroom apartments and 21 one-bedroom apartments.
The homes, all for affordable rent, are said to be high quality and energy efficient and include features such as balconies and energy efficient heating.
The new homes will be built by local contractor, Morganstone.
Funding for the development has come from the Welsh Government’s Social Housing Grant.

Claire Tristram, Director of Development West at Pobl, said: “We’re really pleased to be expanding our portfolio in SA1, building on the success of The Sidings and continuing to invest in this vibrant area of the city. This development will provide much-needed affordable homes, giving individuals and families the opportunity to settle and thrive in a fantastic waterfront location.”
Andrew Pettigrew, Operations Director at Morganstone, said: “We are thrilled to further our successful partnership with Pobl on this prestigious development, bringing much-needed affordable homes to the area.”
The construction come hot on the heals of housing association Beacon, formally Coastal Housing, starting work on 104 affordable homes further along Langdon Road. That development is said to also include new ground-floor commercial premises along with 93 car parking spaces and secure bike parking.
Speaking at the start of works last year, Coastal’s Head of Development, Kelvin Rees said the new homes were in an incredible location. “The SA1 waterfront is such a beautiful spot and is right in the heart of the city’s waterfront with transport links, amenities, nightlife and shopping all within a few minutes’ walk.”
Charlie Parry, Chief Executive of Everwell Development who are constructing Beacon’s development said: “As developers, we’re proud to partner with Coastal Housing to bring 104 much-needed, affordable homes to this waterside regeneration area.
“Together, we’re not just building housing, but creating thriving, inclusive communities where people can truly belong.”
