As one of the earliest road races of the year for the region with months of preparation, the event is set to kick off the season in style! Taking place on Sunday, 16th February, starting and finishing at Festival Fields, the race promises to deliver a fast, scenic, and rewarding event that continues to make it a firm favourite among athletes.
Now in its second year, the 10K race has added even more appeal to the event, offering something for everyone – from first-time racers to seasoned competitors.
This year’s event continues to highlight the spirit of giving, as many runners will take on the challenge to raise money for charity. Supporting the event’s official charities, Prostate Cymru and Wales Air Ambulance, or by fundraising for causes close to their hearts.
Tata Steel Trostre, the event’s headline sponsor, are proud to be taking to the route again this year to support runners. They will, once again field a strong team of 40 runners, supporting local charities Foothold, Mind, and Prostate Cymru.

Tash Smith, Managing Director of Front Runner Events, shared her excitement:
“As our first event of the year, it’s always an incredible feeling to return to what we love most – race day!
“Just like training for a marathon, all our preparation takes place throughout the year so organising an event like this is a year-round effort, and the big day is truly a celebration of our runners, volunteers, and our hardworking crew.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to #RunElli and I’d like to extend our thanks to all the sponsors for supporting us to deliver what we hope will be a successful event for all.”
