30-year-old Scarlett Lee was discovered with 80 animated images depicting adults engaging in sexual activity with children in May last year.
A support worker cleaning Lee’s room at her supported accommodation noticed sexual content on her phone and alerted management.
The content was in breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) issued under Lee’s previous name of Scott Henwood prior to her transitioning. Lee had accessed social media accounts using her new name and had not informed the authorities of the name change by deed poll.
Lee has three previous convictions for breaching SHPO’s, and was already serving a suspended prison sentence at the time of the latest offences.
Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke said at Lee’s sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court: “You have no regard for orders made by the court. You have a persistent interest in child abuse images, but you deny having a sexual interest in children or of understanding the SHPO.”
Lee was sentenced to a total of two years and four months imprisonment.
