Carmarthenshire’s three country parks awarded Green Flag status

Pembrey Country Park and Llyn Llech Owain Country Park have retained their Green Flag status - with Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park receiving the accolade for the first time.

Pembrey Country Park and Llyn Llech Owain Country Park have retained their Green Flag status - with Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park receiving the accolade for the first time.

Carmarthenshire Council’s three country parks have all been recognised with Green Flag status.

The council have said that they’re “delighted” that Pembrey Country Park in Pembrey and Llyn Llech Owain Country Park in Gorslas have retained the award.

Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park in Tumble has also been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award for the first time.

The awards are run by environmental charity Keep Wales Tidy.

Cllr Gareth John, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure Culture and Tourism said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Green Flag Award for three of our beautiful green spaces.” 

“In Carmarthenshire, we are lucky to have these spaces and we look forward to the opportunities that will come from these awards.”
