More than 37,000 people enjoyed the Cinderella at Swansea Grand Theatre which is run by Swansea Council.
Cinderella starred Samantha Thomas in the title role, AJ and Curtis Pritchard, Matt Edwards, Kev Johns and Stefan Pejic. It ran at the Grand from 9 December to 7 January.
Council cabinet member Elliott King said: “Audience reactions to Cinderella were incredible; there were hundreds of extremely positive comments on social media and lots of repeat attenders.
“It built on the success of the previous year’s Beauty and the Beast panto and proved once again that theatre is alive and well in Swansea.”
Grand manager Grant McFarlane said: “We’re thrilled with the increased audience numbers.
“Everybody who attended Cinderella had a ball. The digital set dazzled and the cast were outstanding, with heaps of hilarity.
“It was a high-calibre cast – and production values were high. It was a real pleasure to provide such an enjoyable experience for Swansea and to see how much everyone had loved it.”
Panto for 2024-25 will be Jack and the Beanstalk. It’ll have a new digital set, created specially for Swansea Grand Theatre.
Comedy duo Kev Johns and Matt Edwards will return to provide more festive fun.
Tickets are already on sale, with advance sales already ahead of Cinderella.
