USA international striker Josh Sargent scored twice in his first start since October as the Canaries returned to winning ways after back-to-back defeats with a 5-1 hammering of Swansea, whose own six-match run without a win continued in East-Anglia.
The Swans would edge the first 45 but would find themselves behind with Sargent slamming home on the stroke of half-time to give Norwich the lead.
Williams’ side equalised just after the hour mark as Wales forward Liam Cullen powered home a header to move into double figures for the season from Josh Key’s cross.
But Sargent would restore the Canaries lead within 30 seconds of Swansea’s leveller after the visitors would squander possession, with the 24-year-old firing into the bottom corner of the net.
Aston Villa loanee Lewis Dobbin scored to make the points safe 15 minutes from time as he fired in low after robbing Key of the ball, as the Swans porous defense once again leaked.
Williams’ side further unravelled defensively in the closing stages and Ante Crnac scored a fourth as Swansea debutant Hannes Delcroix was lost possession in embarrassing fashion, and Emiliano Marcondes walked the ball over the line for a fifth after Crnac’s effort hit the crossbar.

For Williams the result was hard to take and the way his players switched off totally unacceptable.
“I am embarrassed by the performance today. You can’t be that weak in the Championship and expect not to be spanked,” said Williams in his post-match press conference.
“I thought we were marginally the better side in the first half but then we conceded a goal at a dreadful time and go in behind.
“We are struggling to keep the level of concentration, and we are being punished massively for that.
“We conceded at dreadful times. Right on the stroke of half-time and then immediately after equalising.
“After that the will to compete seemed to leave the players and it was a terrible end to the game for us.
“We collapsed and it was unacceptable. I just feel sorry for the fans who made the long journey today, they must be sick of the sight of me right now.
“It has been a poor run of results and it’s important we bounce back quickly because we are looking over our shoulders at the teams below us now.”
