The Doran family are offering a £1000 for the safe return of Winston, a 20-year-old former Blackpool donkey who was taken from his field in Taliaris near Llandeilo on the weekend of December 9, 2023.
On finding out that Winston had disappeared, owner Amy Doran first spent time looking in neighbouring fields and locations nearby in case he had gotten out or had fallen but there was no sign of him.
Amy said that the family, including two young daughters are devastated that Winston has gone. Especially so close to Christmas they are all also extremely concerned about Winston’s partner Rudy.
Even daughter Bella, 4, who has a close bond with the donkey has written to Santa Claus to ask him to bring him home for Christmas, whilst his companion donkey Rudy has been pining for him.
“Donkeys pair for life,” she said. “Rudy is very upset and missing Winston. It’s not just Winston we are worried about, it’s also Rudy.”
Ms Doran said she was shocked that Winston had gone but Rudi was still there and hopes that someone, somewhere knows where Winston is and that they can get him home before Christmas.
“I’ve got a very upset daughter this Christmas. She is devastated. They have a very special relationship.”
Winston himself was a Christmas present when the family moved to Wales from Kent.
But Amy says he’s been “part of the family ever since.
“We just want our donkey back. If anybody has any heart this Christmas, just give my daughter her Christmas wish.”
