Tai Tarian say they have delivered over £4,500 worth of donations to community groups in the run up to Christmas.

Toys, food, Christmas dinners, gift hampers and money have all been winging their way to good causes as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite.

Those to benefit included groups such as mother and baby groups, community centres, charities such as the Neath YMCA and Salvation Army, and a range of donations affecting all age groups from Young Carers to a Dementia Project.

The social housing provider also made additional foodbank donations on top of the regular monthly deliveries by the social landlord to foodbanks across the Neath and Port Talbot area.

Tai Tarian’s Economic and Social Regeneration Manager Rebecca Thomas said: “With all the requests we have received over the last few weeks, I’m delighted to say that once again this year we have been able to help and support them all, which is a great achievement for us as a team.

“This is thanks to the kind donations of our contractors, via the Community Benefit arrangements we have with them.”

In total 28 separate Christmas donations have been made to various groups.

Community Benefits investments by Tai Tarian and contractors are managed throughout the year. The scheme means any contractor doing work on the social landlord’s behalf commits to giving something back to the community.

This could be a donation to a junior sports team, a delivery to a local food bank or helping out a community group with some new equipment. It could even be a promise of employment opportunities or apprenticeships for young people.
