First-half strikes from Nathan Broadhead and Connor Chaplin proved to be the difference in a close-fought match after errors in the Swans defense condemned his side to their second home loss in four days.
Jerry Yates had briefly levelled the scoreline for the Swans, but Chaplin’s tenth of the season after a break in play saw the Swans defense switch off and undo their hard work to get back in the game.
It would be Groundhog Day for the Swans as once again they would go behind in the first quarter of the match, the fifth time in seven games since the Londoner has taken over the reins in South Wales.
A pattern that will have to be eliminated if Williams’ side is to climb away from a relegation dog-fight that has now become a stark reality with the gap to the bottom-three closing to just four points.
Visibly frustrated at the errors, Williams feels improving concentration is key to changing his side’s fortunes.

“Today we were in the match, I don’t think there was much between the two teams in terms of the numbers at the end of the game, but we’ve come off second best,” said Williams.
“We worked really hard to get back in the game after giving a goal away and then we stood in the middle of the pitch crossing our fingers. That is not a tactic.
“We have to improve that. We must concentrate and play. They have had a tough time, but they have to learn to play every second of the game.
“To try and improve we must look at the things that are harming us and bit by bit we need to try and irradicate the problems in the performances.
“They [the goals conceded] are unnecessary. Tymon gets the wrong side and Ben Cabango kicks the floor a bit. That is a ridiculous way to concede a goal.
“Then a free kick in the opposition’s half they play a ball square, and no-one steps forward to press. The distance is wrong between the players and the backline. It is so unnecessary, there is no need to concede a goal like that.
“We have to concentrate better and this thing about scoring and being desperate to concede immediately has to stop.
“There are some positives in there I’m sure, but I’m going to need 24 hours to see them.
“The players are completely committed. They showed that again with their work-rate and effort. You can’t question that.
“If we improve our level, we have a great chance to win games from now until the end of the season.”
