Caredig, who changed their name from Family Housing Association back in November 2021 has said they are due to move from their current Walters Road site to the former Nationwide and Burgess Travel offices on Kingsway.
Eighteen affordable flats are due to be created as part of the works, which will also see the look of the building set for a makeover.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Caredig said: “We are pleased to be able to confirm that planning for our new Head Office has been agreed, the site is the old Nationwide Building Society/Burgess Travel buildings on the Kingsway in Swansea City Centre.
“As well as our new offices, which will be located on the ground floor, there will also be 18 affordable apartments.
“Work has already begun with our partners, Calon Construction, who have been stripping out the ground floor.
“We expect work on the development to be complete by June 2024 ready for fit out and potential moving in in September 2024.”
The Kingsway is seeing a number of developments at present, with Swansea Council creating further offices opposite the new Caredig HQ at 71/72 Kingsway – the site of the former Oceana nightclub.
A massive new 13-storey ‘biophilic living building’ is currently also under construction at Picton Yard just off the Kingsway. This mixed-use building includes affordable and shared ownership housing, retail and low carbon commercial office space with an ‘urban farm‘ on the roof.
