34-year-old Aldi Pire was detained during a warrant at an address on Cromwell Street in Mount Pleasant, during which over 100 mature cannabis plants and 125-150 infant plants were discovered.

He has been sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Sergeant Craig Evans from South Wales Police said: “Aldi Pire is just the latest individual to be sent to prison due to his part in the illegal drug trade.

“Cannabis factories such as this are set up in a way that dangerously reroutes electricity from other sources, which poses a great danger to neighbouring properties, not to mention the other illegal activities which are funded by producing cannabis on this scale.

“However, people like Aldi Pire do not give consideration to these dangers.”
